Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez is set to take on Junior Dos Santos in a rematch at UFC 155.  Velasquez will be trying to erase the bitter taste of defeat from the first fight, which ended in dramatic fashion when JDS scored the KO over Cain.

Cain seems to think he will fair much better in the rematch, however.  In a recent interview with SportsRadioInterviews.com, Cain spoke about his upcoming match up with the current heavyweight champion of the UFC.

“Yeah December 29th my rematch with Dos Santos is coming up and I’m just ready for this. This is a loss that’s been in the back of my head for a year now. Can’t wait to get in there and bring that belt back to Arizona. … You always have it in the back of your head. It’s always a reminder that hey I need to keep training harder and get back to a point where you were before that and that was at the top. That’s the whole thing of doing this sport now is trying to be at the top.”

In their first fight, Cain never got a chance to secure the take down, which will pivotal in their second fight.  Cain needs to get the fight to the ground as soon as possible in order to avoid the power punches and to test JDS on the ground, which is something we haven’t really seen much of.

Cain has been one of the most dominant heavyweights in recent memory in the UFC.  His cardio and wrestling abilities have propelled him to the top.  His striking is also formidable, which can be seen with his KO win over Minatauro Nogueira.

Will Cain be able to get the second fight with JDS to the ground?  Will JDS be able to retain his title?  Stay tuned!
