One of the most anticipated heavyweight matches in recent memory is almost set to take place between Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos.  Both fighters will look to finally settle the score, where Junior Dos Santos was able to knock Cain out in their first meeting.

Surprisingly, Junior feesl very confident if their second meeting hits the mat.  In the UFC 155 conference call, Junior told the media how he feels if Cain takes him down:

“It doesn’t affect me at all. I know Cain’s game. I watched his fights a lot and I’ve studied him. I know his strategy and if he takes me down and really holds me down, I’m ready for my first submission in the UFC.”

Cain has yet to be submitted in his UFC tenure, so this is a bold claim from the current heavyweight champion.  However, fans have yet to see Junior fight off his back, and he trains with some of the best jiu jitsu practitioners in the game with Team Black House that is comprised of Anderson Silva and the Nogueira brothers, so maybe Junior is on to something.

First, Cain will have to get Junior to the ground, which is no easy task for any fighter.  Cain wasn’t able to do it the first time, but a nagging injury may have had something to do with it.  Also, Cain will need to avoid the power shots of Junior in order to execute his wrestling.

Regardless of who comes out on top, it’s sure be a barn burner from start to finish, and the winner solidifies their name as being the greatest heavyweight in the world.
