UFC 155 was an exciting card that featured some important bouts in many divisions.  We saw Cain Velasquez prove once again that he is the best heavyweight on the planet.  We also saw Jim Miller and Joe Lauzon go to war; a fight that has Fight Of The Year written all over it next to the Dustin Poirier vs. Chang Sung Jung fight.  Let’s now take a look and see what fights should be booked for the winners.

For Cain Velasquez, his next possible match up should be Alistair Overeem, who is coming off a complete destruction of Brock Lesnar.  Overeem is one of the most dangerous heavyweights in terms of the stand up game.  He is the former Strikeforce heavyweight champion, and also is a K-1 kickboxing champion.  If anyone is going to give Cain a stern test on the feet, it’s Overeem.  Also, if Junior Dos Santos is able to get a win under his belt, he is right back up there with the best of them, so we might see a trilogy fight between him and Cain.

Jim Miller got an impressive win under his belt at UFC 155.  His next fight should be against the winner of the Donald Cerrone vs. Anthony Pettis fight.  Both of these fighters offer exciting styles for Miller, who is one of the most well rounded fighters in the lightweight division.  Or, a possible fight with Gilbert Melendez would be a great fight to book.  It would give Melendez a chance to fight a top contender in the UFC.  If Miller could win, it would more than likely propel him to a title shot, which is currently being reigned by Ben Henderson.

Costa Philippou also got an impressive win over Tim Boetsch.  For him, he should face Yushin Okami, who was also victorious at UFC 155. It would be a  great test for Philippou to see if he can hang with en elite middleweight, and a win certainly solidifies his status as being an elite middleweight who is knocking on the door of a title shot.
