Vitor Belfort was coming into his main event fight with Michael Bisping hungry. Coming off a loss to Jon Jones, he knew he had to do something spectacular in order to revitalize his career as a fighter. Well, he certainly did just that, landing a devastating head kick to Michael Bisping, forcing him to the canvas. From there, Belfort would storm Bisping and would continue punching until the ref stepped in.
What a sensational head kick from Vitor Belfort. In the first round, both fighters were hesitant to exchange with each other. However, at the end, Belfort would land some good punches, rocking Bisping. Belfort would pick up were he left off in the second, forcing Bisping back with some great counter shots. A head kick got him the win tonight, and he is now back in the mix in this always changing middleweight landscape.
For Bisping, he doesn’t get a chance at the middleweight belt, and he will have to take his time and build his way back up again. Both fighters put on a show in Brazil tonight, and it was certainly a great way to cap off the night.
At the end of the fight, Belfort would get on the mike and would tell Dana White and the UFC to send Chael Sonnen out of the UFC. He wants to replace Chael Sonnen and face Jon Jones in a rematch, which I certainly would love to see again. Maybe we shall see a Sonnen vs. Belfort fight down the road.
