King Mo’s Bellator Debut a Success
King Mo had an outstanding Bellator debut tonight in the light heavyweight division against Przemyslaw Mysiala. In the first round, Mo was content to throw the jab that kept Mysiala at bay for much of the round.
Mo’s footwork was excellent tonight, and he was able to control the stand up portion of the fight earlier and often. After a while, Mo was able to evade a shot from Mysiala, and landed a sensational punch on Mysiala that sent him to the canvas completely unconscious. The ref was forced to step in, and Mo certainly made a statement tonight that he is coming for the light heavyweight belt, which is currently being held by Christian Pumbu.
Not only does King Mo have the power and wrestling to pretty much dominate every fighter in Bellator’s light heavyweight division, he also could compete in the heavyweight division if he so chooses. King Mo is now 9-1-1 in his overall MMA career, and it was a much needed win because he was coming off a long layoff due to failed drug tests and staff infections.
Muhammad Lawal is not just a mixed martial artist. Bellator and company will allow him to compete in wrestling as well, so he is a dual threat with a bright future ahead of him. It will be interesting to see if Mo can keep up his winning ways because he has the chance to build his brand up even more in 2013. Expect big things from him in his next fight, and it was a stand up exhibition displayed by him tonight.
