TUF Finale: Travis Browne vs. Gabriel Gonzaga On Tap
An exciting heavyweight bout is expected to go down between Travis Browne and Gabriel Gonzaga. Both of these fighters are heavy hitters, ensuring that this bout will not go the distance. The bout is tentatively expected to take place at TUF Finale.
Travis Browne will be coming into this fight off a tough defeat to Antonio Silva, who has been looking exceptional as of late. During the fight, Browne would injure his knee. From there, it was apparent that Browne’s mobility was hindered, and he would eventually get clipped by a punch. Silva would storm Browne and the fight was over from there.
Before this loss, Browne won four out of five bouts, and he was making a name for himself in this heavyweight division, which is currently being reigned by Cain Velasquez. A win for Browne would be huge in terms of becoming relevant again.
Garbriel Gonzaga is coming off a huge submission win over Ben Rothwell. Gonzaga was able to pick his shots and shoot in when the opportunistic presented itself. He would then lock on a guillotine, forcing Ben to tap. He is now on a three fight winning streak, and has some serious momentum behind him.
In terms of the stylistic match up, both of these fighters possess knockout power in their hands. However, Browne likes to use his wrestling on the ground and Gonzaga loves to grapple and go for submissions. Will Browne be able to rebound off his latest loss or will Gonzaga continue his momentum in hopes of getting a title shot?
