A bantamweight bout is taking place at UFC 159 between Erik Perez and Johny Bedford. Both have looked very impressive in their UFC tenure, and the winner moves up the rankings. Currently, Renan Barao is the interim champ, but these two fighters present some interesting stylistic match-ups if they can keep up their winning ways.

Perez comes into this fight with an impressive 8 fight winning streak. He is currently 13-4 in his fighting career, and has beat some durable fighters in Ken Stone and Byron Bloodworth. A win over Johny Bedford would be huge for his career, and would allow him to fight marquee fights in the bantamweight division.

Perez is a dynamic striker and is also competent when put on the ground. He has knockout power in his hands, making him a threat to any opponent that is matched up against him.

Bedford is currently on a three-fight winning streak, where he was able to KO Marcos Vinicius in his last UFC outing. Johny competed on TUF for Team Bisping vs. Team Miller, where he had a great season until getting knocked out by dynamic striker John Dodson.

Since TUF, Bedford has shown an incredible knack to finish opponents in devastating fashion, and he has over 15 finishes in his fighting career. Whether it’s on the ground or on the feet, Bedford is always looking to finish.

Both of these fighters have exciting styles with well-rounded games, so it should be an exciting scrap that means a lot for the winner.
