UFC welterweight Jordan Mein and Matt Brown will square off at UFC on FOX 7. Originally, Matt Brown was scheduled to face Dan Hardy, but an injury forced Hardy out of the bout. Now Mein will get the chance to earn another impressive victory after his latest destruction over Dan Miller.
In the bout, Mein showed some great stand up skills, clipping Miller at the end of the round. Miller was unable to defend himself, forcing the ref to step in. It was a huge win for Mein, and a win over the always-durable Brown would be huge for his career. Mein is now 27-8 in his fighting career, beating some quality opposition in Joe Riggs, Marius Zaromskis, and Josh Burkman.
Brown has been on an impressive run as of late. He is on a four-fight winning streak, and is coming off an impressive performance over Mike Swick. Brown ended up getting the KO the second round of that bout, which was a huge win for his career. In Brown’s most recent fights, he has shown his technical striking abilities and power as well.
This fight has the potential to end quickly as both fighters have knockout power in their hands. The winner will be poised to move up in the stacked welterweight division rankings. If one fighter can end the fight in dramatic fashion, they will more than likely fight a top-10 contender in the division in hopes of eventually challenging for a title shot. Regardless of the outcome, Mein vs. Brown has the makings to be a war.
