TUF 17 Finale kicks off this weekends and features a bantamweight bout between Urijah Faber and Scott Jorgensen. An interesting back-story to this bout is that both fighters are forming training partners, so it will be interesting to see how their strategies unfold once their inside the octagon.
Coming into this important contender bout, Faber sports an overall MMA record of 27-6. He is the former WEC featherweight champ, and he will be looking to continue his championship dreams in the bantamweight division when he squares off with Jorgensen. In Faber’s last UFC outing, he would defeat Ivan Menjivar in impressive fashion, finishing him via rear-naked choke.
Jorgensen sports a record of 14-6, and is coming off an impressive submission victory over John Albert. A win over Faber would be huge for Jorgensen’s career, and might even grant him a title shot, where Dominick Cruz is the champ and Renan Barao is the interim champ. Jorgensen is one of the most exciting fighters in the UFC, and he has over seven finishes to back this up.
In terms of a stylistic match up, both of these fighters are as dynamic as they come. Both can end the fight standing and on the ground, and it may come down to who can implement their game plan first and who has the stronger will. It should be a true treat for MMA fans, and this main event bout has Fight-Of-The-Night written all over it.
So will Faber come out victorious in hopes of getting another title shot? Or will Jorgensen finally put together a title run after an impressive victory over The California Kid? Keep it locked here for the latest coverage of TUF 17 Finale.
