Tom Szczerbowski-USA TODAY Sports

A UFC heavyweight bout is taking place on UFC on Fuel TV 10 between Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Fabricio Werdum.

Both of these fighters are from Brazil, so their will to win will be at an all-time high as the event is taking place in Brazil. Both men have the chance to jump in the rankings with a win, and the loser will take a serious hit in their fighting career.

Coming into this bout, Nogueira sports an overall record of 34-7-1-1.  His latest performance went exactly his way, as he was able to defeat Dave Herman via submission (armbar) in the first round. It was a sterling performance from Nogueira, and one that certainly proves he still has some gas left in the tank to compete at a high level.

Nogueira, one of the best submission artists in the division, will look to get a key victory against Werdum, which would certainly be impressive in many regards.

Werdum, who is considered the best submission artist in the division, will look to finally make his run at the title. A high point in his career was when he submitted Fedor Emelianenko, who was thought to be unbeatable at the time. He ended up slapping a triangle on the great Fedor, earning one of the biggest upsets in MMA history.

It would be a huge feather in his cap if he can get a submission victory over Nogueira, especially if he can win in impressive fashion.

Dana White Doesn’t Think Conor McGregor Can Beat Rafael dos Anjos

Things are getting interesting ahead of UFC 196. The headlining fight at that March 5 pay-per-view event will see UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor move up to lightweight to face the champion of that division Rafael dos Anjos. If McGregor succeeds he will become the first UFC fighter to hold belts in two different divisions simultaneously. The oddsmakers have McGregor as the favorite ahead of the fight. UFC president Dana White doesn’t necessarily hold the same opinion.
