A welterweight bout is in the works between dynamic strikers Martin Kampmann and Carlos Condit for the UFC on FSN 1 2 card. This bout will be a rematch of two of the most well versed striker, who have complete grappling skills as well. Both fighters are coming off a loss, so their will to win and get back in the mix will be at an all time high.
Coming into this fight, Condit is trying to get back in the win column. His latest defeat was against Johny Hendricks, which was a closely contested affair until Hendricks was able to get takedown after takedown. Kudos to Condit for getting up rather quickly and trying to implement his striking game. Despite the loss, it made Condit want to improve his wrestling game, so it will be interesting to see how much his wrestling skills have improved since his last UFC appearance.
As for Kampmann, he also is coming into this bout off a loss to Hendricks, only it was way more devastating, as it was a knockout loss. Kampmann is one of the most well rounded fighters in the division. Whether it’s on the feet or on the ground, he is always looking to make it a war. A key win for him was against Jake Ellenberger, where he was able to get a guillotine, despite losing two rounds prior. It’s submissions skills like this that always make him dangerous when the fight hits the mat.
So who will come out the victor in this pivotal rematch?
