King Mo Lawal KO’s Seth Petruzelli At Bellator 96
A light heavyweight bout took place at Bellator 96 between Muhammed Lawal and Seth Petruzelli. Coming into this fight, King Mo was looking to rebound in a big way as his last performance ended with him getting knocked out by a spinning back-fist from Emanuel Newton.
In the first round, Mo exchanged some good combinations with Petruzelli, who started the round off strong, keeping Mo at bay with his combinations and kicks. However, Mo landed a viscous right square on the chin while Petruzelli was on the ground, ending the bout at 1;35 in the first round.
Petruzelli has now lost four out of his last six bouts, and this is more than likely his last run at a belt in a major MMA organization. He will always be remembered for defeating Kimbo Slice within a few seconds of the first round.
It was a much-needed win for Mo, who now puts himself right back on track in the light heavyweight tournament. If he can keep his winning streak going, he should have a great chance at fighting for the belt, which is currently held by Attila Vegh. Mo has always shown great techniques in terms of his wrestling as he is a world-class wrestler.
However, his hands have improved with each fight, save for the bout with Newton. If he can continue to work on his hands while protecting his chin at all costs, then he has a great chance at becoming a star under the Bellator promotion.
