UFC heavyweight bout has been set for UFC 166 between heavy-hitters Roy Nelson and Daniel Cormier. Both have knockout power in their hands, making this an intriguing fight. Also, each possesses some serious grappling skills, so it will be a true test of mixed martial arts.

Cormier has been petitioning for this fight for a long time, calling out Nelson on Fuel TV shows and even signing a fake fight contract and then sending it to Dana White. Now, the UFC has finally made the bout, and it looks like Cormier couldn’t be happier. This bout will give Cormier a chance to test his skills, which have been looking great as of late. He is undefeated and had a successful UFC debut against Frank Mir, who is a former heavyweight champion.

Nelson’s latest performance didn’t go exactly as planned against Stipe Miocic, who was able to out-strike Nelson for the majority of the fight. Before this loss, Nelson was making waves in the division, racking up three straight devastating wins. He will need to rebound in a big way, especially if he wants to continue fighting in the UFC. His relationship with White has been rocky at best, so a win keeps him competitive in the heavyweight division and potentially saves his job.

Both fighters have knockout power in their hands. The difference between the two is that Cormier is one of the best wrestlers to ever compete inside a cage. He has even competed in the Olympic arena. Nelson doesn’t have Cormier’s wrestling credentials, but he is well versed in Jiu Jitsu, something most people forget. It should be a fun scrap, and the winner certainly improves their appeal for future fights.
