The UFC middleweight division was completely shook up when Chris Weidman did the impossible, defeating Anderson Silva, who is considered by many the greatest fighter to ever compete in MMA. It was something that not many expected, and it certainly injected new life into a division that seemingly was cleared out. Now, UFC middleweights are licking their fingers to fight for the belt, some of which include Vitor Belfort and Tim Kennedy.
On the same night that Weidman upset Silva, Kennedy was also able to get an important win against Roger Gracie. Now, it looks like he will go toe-to-toe with Belfort, who has looked quite impressive as of late. On Twitter, Kennedy said the following:
I’m going to brazil to fight Vitor! I’m bringing ranger panties, Greg Jackson and Ranger Up.

Both of these middleweights are looking to move up the ladder in hopes of challenging for the title, and if they can get an impressive win, they may very well get what they wish for. In Kennedy’s latest win, he was able to thwart Gracie’s submission attack, proving once again that Kennedy’s submission defense is top-notch. Belfort’s latest win certainly was compelling, as he was able to land a spinning wheel kick on Luke Rockhold, where Belfort was able to finish with strikes on the ground.
It should be a fun scrap, featuring two top middleweights, where each will do everything in their power to win in hopes of a title shot. So, who will come out the victor? Stay tuned!
