One of the hottest prospects in MMA right now is Conor McGregor. McGregor is one of the most popular fighters to ever come out of Ireland, and he has the skills both inside and outside the cage to be a huge star for the UFC. This is especially true if he can keep up his winning ways. On UFC’s Fox Sports 1 card, McGregor was able to impress yet again.

Going up against Max Holloway, McGregor had a world of pressure on his back. There hasn’t been too many occurrences where a fighter received as much praise and hype as McGregor did last Saturday night. McGregor already had one UFC win under his belt where he was able to stop Marcus Brimage inside the first round.

In his bout with Holloway, McGregor was able to put some impressive combinations together, mainly with his diverse kicking game. McGregor even took the fight to the ground on several occasions, proving he is a well-rounded fighter.

However, while McGregor was able to pick up the victory, he wasn’t happy about his performance. He wanted to get the finish, and he believes he can defeat any man in the featherweight division.

Going forward, McGregor has a lot of options in terms of his next opponent. Chan Sung Jung is coming off a title loss to Jose Aldo, but that fight would be great for McGregor. If he can get the win, it would solidify his status as an elite featherweight and would catapult him up the rankings.

Another fight that would be great for his career would be against the winner of the Erik Koch vs. Dustin Poirier bout. Both fighters love to trade while standing, so it would give McGregor another chance to show his world-class striking skills. Whoever McGregor faces next, it’s clear that the hype is warranted, at least for now.
