One of the most popular fighters right now in the UFC is Conor McGregor. This Irish native has burst onto the scene, defeating Marcus Brimage and Max Holloway in decisive fashion. Now many are pegging McGregor to be the next big thing in the featherweight division. McGregor feels the same way, and he took to Twitter to voice his opinion about the state of the featherweight division.

Aldo-Safe. Mendes-135er. Lamas-Nobody cares. Cub-OLD. TKZ-Open. Edgar-135er. Siver-OLD. Poirier-PeaHead. Guida-Boring. Lentz-Boring. Koch-?.

Obviously, McGregor has a reason to be cocky as he has a lot of finishes on his record, but he has yet to face the elite of the division, and will still need to to develop if he ever wants to become a champion. Fighters in the division have yet to respond to McGregor, but they have surely taken notice of him.

Currently, McGregor is without an opponent, but he and his team have been campaigning for a bout with Diego Brandao, who is one of the most explosive strikers in the division. Brandao’s latest victory was over Daniel Pineda. He was able to outpoint Pineda on the feet for much of the fight. However, he showed some cardio issues, which McGregor will look to exploit if their bout is indeed booked.

McGregor doesn’t shy away when it comes to expressing his feelings, and this was clearly evident in his post-fight press conference after his Holloway fight, and now his Twitter talk.

So, is this a good move on McGregor’s part about calling out the rest of the featherweight division? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
