5 Unbelievable Quotes By UFC Champ Ronda Rousey
5 Unbelievably Wicked Quotes By UFC Women's Champ Ronda Rousey
UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey knows how to mess girls up with an armbar. She's the 2013 female version of Mike Tyson. She comes for blood. As bad as she is inside the cage, Rousey is perhaps even more bad outside of the cage. She speaks her mind.
There's no silencing this destructive diva. Rousey's battle to the top has never been easy. A former bronze Olympic medalist in Judo, Rousey has scratched and clawed her way to the top of the UFC, despite early resistance from her peers. Rousey was never supposed to get a Strikeforce title shot at Miesha Tate. She had four fights under her belt, but she was handpicked to replace Sarah Kaufman as a challenger to Tate. The move paid off, and Rousey hasn't stopped since the 2012 classic fight.
In a sport that is dominated by men, Rousey showed the world that there is a place for a beautiful, talented and mean female fighter. She kicked so much backside that UFC President chose to shut down Strikeforce, bring Rousey over to the UFC, and crown her as the first UFC women's champion. Anybody who rises to the top of their sport that quickly is going to draw cynics and Rousey has plenty of them. But she doesn't care. Considering that none of her seven fights has made it out of the first round, she's probably spent more minutes blasting her opponents and haters with her tongue than she has beating them up inside the cage.
Rousey has let her feelings be known on everybody from Tate and Michael Phelps to Cris Cyborg and Georges St-Pierre. Rousey is here to stay and for your sake it's probably best if she never mentions your name.
5: Ronda Rousey Smacks Fellow Olympian Michael Phelps
"I don't like being somebody's teammate and being treated like I'm their groupie. I didn't even want to go out of my way to go say hi to that guy. Get over yourself. All you do is swim. If someone slapped you every single time you jumped in the pool, then I'd have a little more respect, but I was a swimmer before I did this %$!@ so you can't tell me that swimming is 'OH MY GOD', because it's not."
4: Ronda Rousey Wrecks Miesha Tate's Boyfriend Bryan Caraway
"God, that guy's a douche. No one likes him. Have you ever heard anyone like, ‘Oh, I love that Caraway chap?' No, it never happens. It's just bad juju. You could just see, he's got, like, this film of douche on him. There's just nothing, there's nothing you like. Maybe the people at Bosley Hair Restoration like him. Black and Decker."
3: Ronda Rousey Insults Cris Cyborg
"I have mixed emotions of Cyborg being caught cheating because I know everyone knew she was cheating and I wanted to make an example of her because you don’t need to take steroids to win. I think her getting caught is a great thing too. I don’t have the least bit respect for her because I always knew she was a cheater, and now everyone else knows too. If she ever comes back to fight again, she won’t be the same beast she was before. She might even try doing different things like HGH that are harder to get caught for."p>
2: Ronda Rousey Criticizes Georges St-Pierre
"I think (Georges St-Pierre) lucked out a lot that he’s Canadian. I love Canadians. They are the coolest, nicest, most patriotic people, and they will support their countrymen no matter what, and I think that’s commendable. But if GSP wasn’t really good-looking, and really Canadian, he would be really unknown.”
1: Ronda Rousey Blasts Kim Kardashian
[Kim Kardashian is] like a glorified porn star that's been taken and somehow pushed to be some sort of role model. She sells Skechers to little kids in ads all over the place. What kind of example does that set? When my little sister is watching this stuff and thinking 'Wow! If I perform fellatio on a C-list celebrity, I'll suddenly have fame and stuff.' It's just wrong in every way and, if I had a chance, if I had to pick anyone, of course I would beat her up."
