An exciting middleweight bout between Rafael Natal and Ed Herman has been added for UFC 167. Both fighters have competent grappling skills, making this an intriguing bout if and when it hits the mat. The loser takes a serious hit in their ranking, so they will look to get an impressive win, in hopes of furthering their MMA career.

This bout will take place on the same card as Georges St. Pierre and Johny Hendricks. Herman will be looking to build some momentum, after picking up a much-needed win over Trevor Smith. The bout ended in a split decision, but it was clear that Herman did enough on the feet to warrant a decision. The bout actually won Fight-Of-The-Night, showcasing the type of excitement that Herman brings to the cage every time he fights.

Just like Herman, Natal is coming off a huge win in Brazil over Tor Troeng, which also earned Fight-Of-The-Night honors. In the bout, Natal was able to showcase his brilliant Brazilian jiu jitsu, and his striking has come a long way since joining the UFC. He is now on a three fight winning streak, and a win over Herman would be a huge feather in his cap.

Both fighters are more than willing to oblige in a striking war, and they are also very dangerous when the fight hits the mat. Herman was able to go toe-to-toe with Demian Maia for a while, proving he has some solid grappling skills. Natal is a black belt in jiu jitsu, and his transitions are solid. It should be a great fight that moves the winner up the middleweight ladder, where Chris Weidman currently sits at the top.
