Kendall Grove Tries His Luck In Bellator

Kendall Grove Facebook Page

It may be hard for people, other than MMA diehards, to remember who Kendall Grove is. In fact, some diehards may only be able to remember a glimpse of him. Despite winning the third season of the Ultimate Fighter, Grove has been somewhat of a ghost in the MMA world.

The man who defeated him in the TUF finale, Ed Herman, is still competing in the UFC today. He will fight Rafael Natal at UFC 167.

Grove’s career has been up and down, and he has yet to find a permanent home for his talents. In the UFC, the Hawaiian-born fighter won seven fights and lost six. His last win inside the octagon came in 2010 against Goran Reljic by split decision. He last loss was against Tim Boetsch in 2011, which ultimately led to his release.

From the UFC, he went on to compete in the short lived organization called ProElite. He beat Joe Riggs by submission and Ikuhisa Minowa before moving on to “greener pastures” in other organizations.

After ProElite, Grove went on to post a 4-4 record, winning his last fight against Danny Mitchell in Global Warrior Challenge earlier this year.

Now Grove will have another shot at the limelight in Bellator. His debut will take place on Oct. 18 on the Bellator 104 card in Cedar Rapids, IA. He will be fighting Joe Vedepo at middleweight.

Vedepo lost to Louis Taylor in his last fight in Bellator.

Though their has been no mention of Grove being at staple to the Bellator roster, it will be hard to deny him a spot in a middleweight tournament at some point in the future.
