Holly Holm has been making waves in the women’s bantamweight division. She doesn’t compete in the UFC, but has been able to put on some impressive performances in smaller organizations across the world. In her most recent win, which took place last night at Legacy FC 24, she was able to put a beating on Nikki Knudsen.
In her bout with Nikki, she was able to put on a striking display, picking her apart with kicks. She ended up getting a TKO victory with kicks to the body in the second round, bringing her record to a perfect 5-0. She has now finished all five of her opponents, and it’s clear she is becoming a force to be reckoned with in the women’s bantamweight division.
If Holm can continue winning like this, she is more than likely getting the call to fight in the UFC. There, she would present some interesting problems to any fighter in that division. Holm is arguably the best striker, save for Cristiane Justino, in all of women’s MMA. Her 32-2-3 record in boxing is a testament to the type of striking skills she has, and she can knock any fighter out if she lands flush.
Currently, the UFC’s bantamweight division is being ruled by Ronda Rousey, who will be taking on Miesha Tate in their epic rivalry. But Holm could find herself fighting either of these fighters if she continues to grow as a mixed martial artist.
