UFC: Cole Miller Believes Conor McGregor Is All Hype
Cole Miller is coming off a much-needed win this past weekend over Andy Ogle. In the bout, Miller was able to showcase his excellent Jiu Jitsu, taking Ogle’s back on numerous occasions. He also showcased some crisp striking, namely his jab. He was awarded the unanimous decision, potentially saving his job with the UFC.
After the fight, Miller would put European fighters on blast, saying they couldn’t beat him. Then, in an interview with Fighters Only, Miller would call out Conor McGregor, saying he hasn’t been tested. Here’s a little bit of what he had to say:
“You see him everywhere, they fly him out to every event, you see him there looking all GQ. I mean I don’t think he’s a bad fighter or anything, I just need to see a little bit more from him so, you know, come through me. I just think you don’t deserve to be fighting a top ten guy after not finishing a 21-year-old kid.”
Miller has a point in saying McGregor hasn’t truly been tested. McGregor only has had two fights inside the UFC. While both of those performances were entertaining, it wasn’t against the best in the featherweight division. He has yet to face the elite in the division, such as Chad Mendes, Cub Swanson, Frankie Edgar and current champ Jose Aldo. Even Miller would present some interesting challenges for McGregor, especially when the fight hits the mat. Maybe Miller is positioning himself with a McGregor fight, which would be huge for his career and would bring him up from the Facebook prelims.
Do you feel Miller is right in saying McGregor is overrated? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
