UFC Fight For The Troops, which takes place on November 6, 2013, will feature an important women’s bantamweight fight between Liz Carmouche and Alexis Davis. Both are looking to gain a title shot with the win, so there will be a lot of desperation from both fighters to put on an impressive performance.

Coming into this bout, Carmouche is looking to make her way back to the title. She almost was able to defeat Ronda Rousey in their championship bout, locking up a rear-naked choke. It wasn’t tight enough, however, and Rousey was able to eventually get an armbar submission.

Carmouche is one of the strongest fighters in the division, and she is an excellent wrestler with underrated submissions skills. She will be looking to bring the fight to the mat with Davis, who is a very competent jiu-jitsu practitioner. Her latest victory was against Jessica Andrade, where she was able to get the TKO finish in the second round. One more victory, and she could very well fight for the title next.

Davis comes into this bout ranked sixth in the bantamweight division. She sports an overall record of 14-5, and she is coming off a great performance against Rosi Sexton. She was able to get the unanimous decision and looked great when the fight hit the mat. She will be looking to score her biggest win to date against Carmouche, and if she can implement a good strategy, she could very well score the upset.

This bout should be an excellent grappling battle where the winner could potentially earn a title shot against either Miesha Tate or Rousey, depending on who comes out the victor after they square off for the belt.
