UFC Fight For The Troops 3 kicked off today, which featured a great middleweight bout between Yoel Romero and Ronny Markes. Both put on an exciting fight for the fans, and Romero was able to score a KO finish in the third round. It was an impressive finish for Romero, who has now finished all of his fights by knockout.

This is pretty incredible, as Romero is arguably one of the best wrestlers in MMA right now, having won a silver medal in the Olympics and has beaten the great Cael Sanderson. Now, Romero is 7-1 in his fighting career, and the star is the limit for this incredible fighter and athlete. Tonight, Romero showcased some incredible movement. Time and time again was he able to slip and counter Markes, landing some hard shots of his own. He did get taken down a couple times, which is just a testament to the type of wrestling Markes possesses.

For Markes, he will need to go back and refine some of his striking, especially if he hopes to remain competitive in the middleweight division, which is becoming stacked. For Romero, he will move up the middleweight rankings. A great opponent for him next would be against Francis Carmont.

Both fighters have looked great in the middleweight division, and the winner could be one step closer to a title shot. Whoever Romero faces, he’s going to be a tough outing, as is showing improvements with his hands in every single fight. Also, couple this with his world-class wrestling, he could be the next middleweight champion.
