A great featherweight bout has been booked between Darren Elkins and Jeremy Stephens. Both are looking to move up the ranks in hopes of furthering their careers, and it should be an exciting battle as both fighters love putting on a show for the fans. This bout has been booked on the UFC on Fox 10 card, which is shaping up to be a great event.

Coming into this featherweight bout, Elkins is looking to build off his win over Hatsu Hioki. Elkins was able to dictate the pace from start to finish in that fight, and his wrestling was the deciding factor. Elkins is one of the grittiest, hard-working fighters in the division, and his hands have also made marked improvements. He will look to pressure Stephens from the opening bell, and if he can avoid the power shots he has a great chance of coming out the victor and reasserting himself in the division.

Stephens made his featherweight debut a couple of weeks ago against Rony Jason. In the very first round, Stephens was able to uncork a brutal leg kick which sent Jason out and to the canvas. It was pretty much over from there, and the win was huge for Stephens, making him a viable contender in the division. Stephens has always had the power to knockout opponents, but his ground game, specially his wrestling, has come a long way. And he’s a big featherweight, so he may have a strength advantage over a lot of his opponents.

It should be a great bout where the winner is a couple steps away from a title shot which is currently being held by Jose Aldo.
