UFC Fight Night 35: Brad Tavares vs. Lorenz Larkin Booked
It looks like a middleweight bout between Lorenz Larkin and Brad Tavares is in the works for UFC Fight Night 35. This is a compelling match up, as both fighters love to keep the fight on the feet and exchange with heavy leather. This news comes from UFC News’ Twitter page:
This is a huge bout for both fighters, as a win would move them up the middleweight rankings. Larkin comes into this bout off a much-needed win over Chris Camozzi. In that bout, Larkin was able to dominate in the striking department, getting a unanimous decision.
It was his first UFC win, and he is looking to build off that win with another when he takes on Tavares. Larkin has looked great against strikes, but it’s when he faces elite grapplers that he finds himself stifled at times. He will be looking to keep the bout with Tavares on its feet in hopes of scoring an impressive finish.
Tavares comes into this bout on a four-fight winning streak. His latest win was over Robert McDaniel, a win that he was able to dominate both on the ground and standing. Tavares has only lost to Aaron Simpson in his career, and he will be looking to showcase his striking power when he takes on Larkin for a battle of middleweight supremacy.
