Manny Pacquiao Delivers Sensational Performance Against Brandon Rios
Boxing fans witnessed a great WBO welterweight title fight between Manny Pacquiao and Brandon Rios. From the opening bell, it was clear that Pacquiao was the superior fighter. He would land good body shots, great hooks, and even rocked Rios at various times in the fight.
Pacquiao dominated every round in the fight, and Rios wasn’t able to really land anything significant on Manny. Still, Rios showed tremendous heart in not getting finished, but it’s clear he’s not the caliber of boxer that Manny is. At the end, the judges awarded Manny a unanimous decision win, which was much-needed, because his last fight ended in devastating fashion, with Juan Manuel Marquez getting the KO finish.
After a boxer gets knocked out in brutal fashion, there is always the question: How will he do in his next bout, and will there be any hesitation in the fighter? This didn’t seem to be the case for Manny, and it looks like he has returned to form. So, what’s next for him going forward? A great bout that would surely do well, in terms of pay per view buys, would be against one of the greatest boxer in the sport today, Floyd Mayweather Jr.
This fight was essentially a super-fight before Manny got finished by Marquez. Now, the fight has gained some of the luster back, and fans would get to see an incredible fight if the bout is booked in the future. Another opponent that would be great for Manny would be against Timothy Bradley, who was able to eek out a controversial split decision when they fought the first time. A rematch would give Manny the chance to settle the score and also build some momentum for his career.
