Tonight in the Ultimate Fighter Season 18 Finale, Chris Holdsworth and David Grant threw down for a chance to win a UFC contract and also a Harley Davidson motorcycle. Holdsworth pressed the action early, putting Grant against the cage. He would also land some great combinations that seemed to hurt Grant, but he recovered.

Holdsworth landed a good kick in the second and followed it up with a takedown. From there, he sank in a rear-naked choke, forcing Grant to tap out. Now, Holdsworth is the TUF 18 men’s bantamweight winner. It was an impressive showing from Holdsworth. He showcased some improved stand-up, and he was never really hurt by Grant’s punches.

The difference in the fight proved to be Holdsworth grappling game, which was his bread and butter on the show. He will now get a contract with the UFC, and he’s going to be a fun fighter to watch in the bantamweight division. This is the biggest win of his’ career, and he certainly deserved it tonight. Hats off to Grant as well for bringing the fight. It was an exciting fight from start to finish.

After the fight, Holdsworth thanked the fans and told the crowd HWPO, which stands for “hard work pays off.” This proved to be true tonight, and it’s amazing to see him seize his UFC dreams. Who he fights next in the UFC remains to be seen, but he’s going to be a tough outing for anyone, especially if he continues to work on his stand-up.
