UFC Fight Night 33: Mark Hunt And Antonio Silva Put On Fight For The Ages
An excellent heavyweight bout took place tonight for UFC Fight Night 33 between Mark Hunt and Antonio Silva. Ultimately, it was Silva who proved to be the better man on the night; he showcased some good strikes and even better grappling skills.
Silva would get the better of Round 1 and Round 2, utilizing a great defensive guard standing. Hunt, however, would land a huge right, which hurt Silva and sent him to the canvas in Round 3; Hunt would end the round on top. Silva would rally back and have a sterling round in the fourth. There were so many momentum shifts in this fight; both heavyweights showed a ton of heart. Hunt seemed to land more shots in the fifth. At the end, the judges scored the bout a majority draw.
This was one of the best heavyweights fights of all time in the UFC. Both were bloodied and cut up at the end, which is just a testament to how much damage each did to each other. There really was no loser in this fight, and the judges saw this at the end the fight. What heart showed by both Hunt and Silva. This bout certainly will win Fight-Of-The-Night, and may be up for contention for Fight-Of-The-Year.
Hunt showcased some great strikes tonight. He hurt Silva on several occasions in the fight, and he even showcased some great wrestling skills. He rebounded quite nicely from his loss to Junior Dos Santos, and it’s gong to be fun to see him fight in the future.Silva showcased some great strikes as well, and landed a lot of punches on the ground.
