A great bantamweight bout has been booked between Raphael Assuncao and Francisco Rivera. Both of these UFC fighters have looked sensational as of late, and they will get the chance to battle it out for a top ranking in the division. Both are coming off impressive wins, and they have a chance to make a statement in a division that has been dominated by Renan Barao as of late.

Rivera will go into this UFC 170 contest off an impressive TKO win over George Roop. Rivera is one of the most exciting fighters in all of the UFC, throwing relentless combinations that have deadly intentions. He’s undefeated inside the UFC, and he has the chance to fight for the title if he can get an impressive win against Assuncao.

Since dropping down to the bantamweight division, Assuncao has won five straight and has beat some top contenders such as TJ Dillashaw, Vaughan Lee and Mike Easton. Assuncao seems to be unstoppable at this weight class, and he’s one of the most dangerous jiu-jitsu practitioners in the division. His hands have also made marked improvements since joining the UFC, and he’s got the chance to truly make a mark against Rivera.

Both fighters have finishing capabilities, and it’s going to be fun to see which fighter can pick their shots and set the tempo early. This bout has Fight of the Night written all over it, making it a must-watch fight at UFC 170.
