Ronda Rousey has been one of the most dominant fighters to ever step foot inside the cage. To date, she is undefeated and has defeated all of her opponents by way of submission, arm bar. She is currently set to face Miesha Tate for the women’s bantamweight title, which takes place at UFC 168, and it appears she has her sights set on Holly Holm for a future bout.
In a video with Fight Hub, she revealed that she has a lot of interest in fighting Holm before she retires. Holm has yet to be signed to the UFC, which may be in part because of her manager, who is asking for a lot of money in terms of her contract, which may not come to fruition. Hopefully her and her manager can come down in terms of the price, because a Rousey vs. Holm bout would be compelling in many regards.
If Rousey does beat Tate once again on Dec. 28, it’s going to be interesting to see who the UFC matches her up against next. Some viable opponents include Sarah McMann and Cat Zingano. But Holm may possess the best striking of any fighter in the women’s bantamweight division, having been a boxing champion for many years. She’s also competed in kickboxing and has worked diligently on her takedown defense, so she could pose some serious problems to Rousey.
Only time will tell, but a Holm vs. Rousey bout could be one of the biggest fights in the history of women’s MMA.
