Holly Holm appears to have a championship fight lined up in the Legacy FC promotion, which will be against Juliana Werner. This is a huge both for both women, as they will be fighting for a bantamweight belt. This bout was confirmed by MMA Junkie, and is going to be another historic fight for women’s MMA.
Holm, a longtime boxer and champion for many years, will be looking to keep her MMA dreams going with this bout. She has the chance to become a champion, which would enhance her already impressive fighting resume. A long-time student of Mike Winklejohn, Holm has had an impressive MMA career thus far. She is undefeated, sporting a record of 6-0. Despite being relatively green in her MMA career, she has shown some amazing finishing abilities, and she’s already one of the best standup fighters in women’s fighting.
Her opponent, Werner, will be looking to derail some of that hype in hopes of getting her MMA career off the ground. Werner will be coming into this bout sporting a record of 7-3. She also is a very accomplished striker, having competed in kick boxing for many years until she made the transition to MMA. If she can get a win over Holm, it would be one of her biggest to date, and certainly sets herself up with bigger fights in the future.
Both of these women have the chance to become a champion in a great organization, and it would be a huge feather in their cap, especially if they can win in a decisive way.
