Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao is the dream fight that everyone talks about. But after two losses in 2012, Pacquiao’s stock isn’t exactly as high as it once was. Mayweather’s stock on the other hand, is nearly as high as it’s ever been. But Money says there’s no chance in the world he’ll fight Pacquiao. But even though he’s on the record with those comments, he still felt it was necessary to stir the pot on Twitter recently.
Check out what the biggest name in boxing sent out regarding his ‘dream’ opponent:
This is my Christmas card to the world… Happy Sleepy Holidays zzzzzzzzzzzz pic.twitter.com/ynxAJiJmyS
— Floyd Mayweather (@FloydMayweather) December 23, 2013
So in other words – Money is trolling the heck out of Pac-Man.
This isn’t a classy move by Mayweather, but that’s not really something associated with him. If he truly has no intention of fighting Pacquiao, then there was just no need to tweet this Christmas e-card. If he wants to fight, then I would just view this as pre-fight trash talk.
Given all that we know about this situation, one could view it as Mayweather trying to place the blame on Pacquiao for the dream fight never taking place. Most people think that Money was/is scared to fight him, so this could be viewed as a way to steer blame away from Money and onto Pacquiao. Either way, I’ll admit the card is pretty funny. However, I think all boxing fans can agree that we’d still like to see the fight. It might not ‘save boxing’ but it would draw a ton of greenbacks.
