Tonight, Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate squared off at UFC 168 for the bantamweight title. Both fighters had a lot on the line in this bout, but it was Rousey who ultimately came out the victor. The bout was pretty competitive in the first two rounds. Rousey kept throwing Tate to the ground, but Tate showed great heart and survived some submission attempts.

However, in the third round, Rousey locked up her patented armbar, and it was all over from there. Now, Rousey has defend her bantamweight tile against Liz Carmouche and Tate, and she is looking like an unstoppable fighter as of late. She showed she could get out of the first round and still show world class Judo skills.

Time and time again, Rousey took Tate down, and it was clear she was the better ground fighter. She even showed some improved striking, making her a force in the bantamweight division. She is 8-0 in her fighting career, and it’s hard to see anyone challenge her at this point in her career. Maybe fighters like Cat Zingano, who was originally scheduled to fight against Rousey, or Sarah McMann, who is an Olympic caliber athlete in wrestling, can challenge Rousey.

Both fighters are supreme athletes in the division, and they would certainly bring the fight to Rousey. For Tate, she will have to go back to the drawing board, especially if she ever wants to make it back to the championship level status again. Congrats to Rousey on the dominating performance.
