UFC: Pedro Rizzo Believes Anderson Silva Will Fight Again

ANDERSON SILVA UFC

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

One of the most devastating injuries to ever happen inside the UFC happened at UFC 168. Anderson Silva, the greatest fighter to ever compete in the sport, went to throw a left leg kick, but it was checked to perfection from Chris Weidman. The check ended up breaking Silva’s leg, forcing the bout to be stopped.

It was a devastating injury for Silva, who is 38-years old. It’s the type of injury that is hard to come back from, especially a contact sport like fighting. Just ask Corey Hill, who ended up breaking his leg in the same fashion when he faced Dale Hartt back in 2008. It took him a while to get back to fighting shape, and he never really looked the same.

But, Silva’s friend and training partner Pedro Rizzo says Silva will make a full recovery and will return to form. In an interview with MMA Fighting, Rizzo said that Silva will be back and will fight again. If Silva does comeback and fights again, it would be a huge comeback story. Yes, Silva is the greatest fighter to ever compete in the sport, but he’s also human. No fighter is invincible, and Silva learned this in both bouts against Weidman.

If Silva can come back and start winning fights, it would only add to his impressive resume, one that is already one for the ages. So, will Silva get back inside the cage? If he does, who do you want to see him fight next? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Dana White Doesn’t Think Conor McGregor Can Beat Rafael dos Anjos

Things are getting interesting ahead of UFC 196. The headlining fight at that March 5 pay-per-view event will see UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor move up to lightweight to face the champion of that division Rafael dos Anjos. If McGregor succeeds he will become the first UFC fighter to hold belts in two different divisions simultaneously. The oddsmakers have McGregor as the favorite ahead of the fight. UFC president Dana White doesn’t necessarily hold the same opinion.

Ronda Rousey’s Mom Predicted Holly Holm Would Knock Her Out

Dr. AnnMaria De Mars is the first woman ever to win a gold medal at the World Judo Championship doing so in 1984. She is also the mother of former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. Further she may be the most vocal critic of Rousey’s coach Edmond Tarverdyan. Appearing on Submission Radio De Mars once again spoke out on Tarverdyan commenting on Rousey’s loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193. “I predicted it in advance Ronda trained with an idiot and a fraud” said De Mars.
