UFC: Anderson Silva Already Preparing for Brave Comeback
When people think of great fighters in the UFC, one name that comes up within seconds is Anderson Silva. Silva is the greatest fighter to ever step foot inside the octagon. He dominated the middleweight division for many years, and he was so dominant that he decided to test the waters at light-heavyweight, where he also found success there.
He’s defeated many legends of the sport, such as Forrest Griffin, Dan Henderson, Chael Sonnen, and Vitor Belfort. Like every great legend, they have to lose. It’s impossible to go undefeated forever, and Silva met his match twice against Chris Weidman. Weidman is the new breed of fighter, a three-dimensional fighter who is only getting better with each fight. Weidman posed a lot of problems for Silva in the rematch, but no one could predict was was to come next. Right as Silva went for a left leg kick, Weidman checked it perfectly, which broke Silva’s leg.
Even though is was a gruesome injury, Silva is poised to make a comeback. In fact, it seems like Silva will be off crunches and walking in about 30 days, which was revealed by Dana White, the president of the UFC. This news was revealed by White via Twitter:
Leg is healing fast, he will be walking without crutches in 30 days @spideranderson
This is huge news for Spider fans, and it seems like Silva is still motivated to fight in the UFC. Broken legs or not, Silva still has the fire to compete, and if he gets a few wins together, there’s no doubt he will fight for the belt again. Seeing Silva comeback after such a gruesome injury would be nothing short of remarkable, and it would be a testament to the type of motivation and heart Silva has.
