UFC Fight Night takes place next week in Georgia and features a co-main event between Lorenz Larkin and Brad Tavares. Both can finish the fight on their feet, so it’s going to be fun to see who can land the first shot in hopes of getting an impressive TKO or KO.
Larkin comes into this bout off one of his best UFC performances by defeating Chris Camozzi. In each round Larkin put on a striking display, and it couldn’t have come at a better time as his last fight ended in a decision loss to Francis Carmont. Now that Larkin is in the win column, he will be looking to keep his momentum going. He’s got power in his hands, and he’s a very technical striker, utilizing some great kicking techniques. He will be looking to put on an impressive striking display against Tavares.
Tavares is also known for his power, and he’s a very good jiu jitsu practitioner. He is riding high on a four-fight winning streak, and he’s done it over some tough opponents such as Riki Fukuda and Dongi Yang. Tavares has the chance to make a statement by beating Larkin, and it’s going to be interesting to see what kind of strategy he tries to implement come fight night.
If one of these fighters can end the fight in dramatic fashion, they will move up the middleweight rankings in a big way where Chris Weidman is the current champ. It should be a great fight from start to finish.
