UFC on Fox 10 features a stacked card this weekend which goes down in Chicago. It’s going to be a great event for the fans, and they will be treated to a lightweight showdown in the main event, where Ben Henderson and Josh Thomson will go to war in a five-round fight.
This lightweight showdown features two of the best fighters in the division who are still in their prime, and it’s going to be a fast-paced fight because both have cardio for days. Henderson is looking to prove he’s still the best lightweight in the world. He was the UFC lightweight champion up until he fought Anthony Pettis, who was able to catch him in a sneaky armbar.
Henderson was forced to tap out, giving up his lightweight crown after defending it for an impressive three straight times. Henderson is one of the most athletic guys in the division, and he’s also one of the biggest. He will be looking to impose his will and use his grappling to thwart Thomson from getting off anything significant.
Thomson comes into this fight off one of his biggest and most impressive wins inside the Octagon. He landed a beautiful high kick on Nate Diaz, and then followed it up with some punches until the towel was thrown in. This finish showcased the type of dynamic strikes Thomson has, and he’s been a great returning addition to the UFC’s lightweight division. He will be looking to pull off the incredible upset, and he’s surely in line for the title shot against Pettis if he can.
This bout is going to be one of the most entertaining fights on the card, and it very well could go down as the Fight of the Year when it’s all said and done with.
