UFC: Anderson Silva Should Fight Michael Bisping Upon Return
After his UFC 168 bout with Chris Weidman, things didn’t look so good for Anderson Silva. He severely broke his leg against Weidman in the rematch thanks to a perfectly timed leg check from Weidman. It was Silva’s second straight loss to Weidman, and after the rematch it appeared as if Silva may never fight again inside the UFC.
Even after such a ghastly leg injury, Silva and his manager, Ed Soares, believe he will make a speedy recovery and fight in the UFC again. If he can do this it would be an amazing accomplishment for Silva, who has done it all in the sport of MMA and is considered the greatest fighter ever. So if Silva does make it back to the UFC, who will his first fight be against?
One of the most intriguing matchups right now for him is against Michael Bisping. Bisping has been a staple in the UFC’s middleweight division for some time now, and he’s one of the most popular fighters in the sport, especially when it comes to the UK fans. Bisping has petitioned to fight Silva for many years now, and since Bisping is a highly ranked middleweight but not the champ, it makes the most since for Silva upon his return.
Bisping is a fighter who likes to keep the fights standing, so it’s a very winnable fight for Silva since he may have to adjust his rhythm and timing once he steps back inside the cage. The UFC could put this fight on in England which would surely be one of the biggest pay per views ever to happen there.
