Abel Trujillo and Jamie Varner are set to collide in what has the makings to be one of the more exciting fights at UFC 169. Both have a style that is fun to watch, and they are prone to finishing their opponents off early. It’s going to be a great lightweight bout, where the winner can make a serious statement in the division.

Trujillo is one of the most exciting fighters in the lightweight division right now. He’s a dangerous striker, and if he can keep his opponent standing with him, they are more than likely going to be hitting the canvas. So far, Trujillo has been able to go 2-1-1 in his UFC tenure. He’s fresh off a win against Roger Bowling, a fight that showcased his brutal power.

Varner is one of the better wrestlers in the division, but he may be in trouble if he can’t get this fight to the mat. Trujillo has worked diligently on his takedown defense, which could spell trouble for Varner. In the past, Varner has proven to be a tough outing, so it’s going to be a great litmus test for Trujillo. If Trujillo can get past Varner, and finish him in a decisive way, it will prove that he’s ready to take on the best of them, and the other lightweights will have to keep him on their radar.

However the outcome unfolds, it should be an explosive lightweight affair, where the winner will prove to be a viable prospect for the division. It all goes down at UFC 169 this weekend, and Abel is ready to make a statement.
