Renan Barao has been on a tear that has lasted years as he’s only lost once in his career after 33 fights. His winning streak is downright scary, and the same could be said about his skills. He’s got elite striking and he’s just as deadly on the ground. So far, no one in the UFC has been able to solve this puzzle.

This includes Urijah Faber. Faber looked to dominate Barao early in their first title fight, but an injury to his hand prevented him from fighting to his full potential. Now that Faber is completely healthy and has been on a tear of his own, things are looking good for him going up against Barao this weekend. He took this fight on short notice as Dominick Cruz had to pull out because of an injury to his groin.

Faber finally has the chance to capture his championship dreams inside the UFC, and he’s going to give Barao all he can handle this weekend. Thanks to the addition of Duane Ludwig, Team Alpha Male‘s striking coach, Faber has been able to polish his striking. This will benefit him greatly going up against Barao.

Also, Faber has looked nasty on the ground, and he’s going to give Barao a true test in terms of the wrestling. If Faber can put everything together and pressure Barao from the very beginning, he’s going to be walking away with the bantamweight belt, which will prove that he’s the best bantamweight on the planet.
