Urijah Faber was looking to shock the world tonight at UFC 169, when he took on the dominate Brazilian champ, Renan Barao. The bout was thrilling from the very beginning, and it didn’t last very long. Faber looked to press the action, but Barao unloaded a huge overhand right, which had Faber hurt.

Barao would land another huge overhand right, and he followed it up with some strikes on the ground. Faber was covering up while Barao was landing, and he even gave the ref, Herb Dean, a thumbs up. But the ref had seen enough, and stopped the bout in the first round.

Barao executed perfectly in this fight, and he showed why he’s considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters on the planet. This is now the second time that Barao has beat Faber, only it was way more impressive in this rematch. He’s still undefeated in the UFC, and he sports one of the most impressive records in the sport of MMA right now, going 32-1-1. It was one of Barao’s best performances in the UFC, and he proved to be too much for the California Kid.

Faber will have to go back to the drawing board once again, and it’s tough to see him come up short so many times in his championship bouts. Still, Faber is a tough competitor, and he’s still one of the best bantamweights in the world. Barao is still the bantamweight champ, and he’s one of the best fighters in the UFC.
