Condit’s Conditioning is Biggest Weapon at UFC 171
Of all of the fights on the UFC 171 card, Carlos Condit vs. Tyron Woodley is the one that is still the biggest question mark to me. There are so many factors that are going into this fight that it would exhaust one to even try to write them down; instead, I will focus on the biggest one.
The biggest factor in this fight will be conditioning. It has been proven time and time again that Condit has a chin made out of the metal that they use for the vaults at Fort Knox. The guy can really take a punch; not only can he take a punch, but I think that Condit is too technically sound to mess up and get caught.
Woodley does have outstanding wrestling and we have all seen Condit get put on his back more than a few times. On the flip side, and more important side, Condit is either attacking on his back or getting back up to his feet. The moral of the story here is that Condit cannot be held down for an extended period of time. With all of his other options extinguished, Woodley will begin to fade, and that is where Condit will start to pour it on.
Condit very well may only have the third round to win the fight and I think that it is plausible that he can do it. Condit’s excellent conditioning will let him show up in the third round and really kick in into overdrive, and five minutes will just become too long for Woodley to survive. If I am right in this, and the fight actually goes down this way, we are in for one amazing time.
