I hope that Fabricio Werdum destroys Travis Browne. But why? You’re probably thinking, “Browne has been knocking people out! It is fun to watch him fight.” You are correct, I think that it is very fun to watch Browne fight because he knocks people out and he definitely deserves this fight, but my problem with Browne is that he is untested.

It just does not sit well with me that a guy who can knock people out is immediately thrown into a crazy fight, because more times than not, it turns out to be too much for them. That is exactly what is going to happen to Browne. Werdum is going to be too much for him.

Werdum is an amazingly well-rounded fighter. He can knock people out as well as submit them, and he fights intelligently every time. He is a man who knows where he can win the fight, and he will do his best to take the fight there. Browne, on the other hand, has shown the fans that he can throw elbows and has a decent chin. Those things may be able to take you far in the heavyweight division, but it will not take you to the top.

I think that this will be Brown’s first true test of his career. For the first time, he is fighting a well-rounded fighter and I have a feeling that he will have no idea what to do when he steps in the Octagon.

The only place that Browne can win this fight is on the feet, and I do not think that Werdum will stand with him long enough for Browne to get off some decent shots. If I turn out to be wrong, and I usually am, Werdum will not be without hope because his striking has come leaps and bounds since his time in Strikeforce. I am calling a huge win for Werdum by submission in round one. Mark it down, kids.
