Before the stacked main card and the heavyweight title eliminator between Fabricio Werdum and Travis Browne in the main event of UFC on FOX 11, there will be a plethora of action-packed appetizers being offered on the undercard. From a lightweight tilt with title implications to the return of Thiago Alves, this card is oozing with fun fights.

The Flyweight division is far and away the most underappreciated division in the UFC. Like many of his 125-pound cohorts, the immensely talented Dustin Ortiz is one many flyweights who doesn’t get the respect he deserves. The No. 13 ranked flyweight in the world is looking to rebound from a close decision loss to John Moraga, but the well-rounded Ortiz will have a tough task in unbeaten prospect Ray Borg.

One of the brightest young stars on the UFC roster, Jordan Mein has already looked impressive in two UFC outings, stopping the durable Jim Miller and going to war with Matt Brown in a “Fight of the Night” performance. Mein’s opponent, Nova Uniao export Hernani Perpetuo, will be making his promotional debut. Perpetuo is unbeaten in his last nine outings and will look to keep his streak alive in his UFC debut.

This will be former No. 1 contender Thiago Alves’ first time in the Octagon since dropping a submission loss to Martin Kampmann in 2012. “The Pitbull” has long been one of the most feared strikers in the UFC welterweight division, and he will be looking to return to his winning ways in violent fashion against TUF alum Seth Baczynski, who is coming off of a victory over Neil Magney.

Former Strikeforce lightweights Pat Healy and Jorge Masvidal are coming off of defeats in their last bouts and will be looking to reestablish themselves in the 155-pound rankings. Both known for extraordinary toughness, Masvidal and Healy will likely meet in the center of the Octagon and settle things in a fan-friendly fashion. Look for Masvidal to use his slick boxing to counteract the freight train that is Pat Healy.

In the headlining fight of the preliminary card, top-10 lightweights Khabib Nurmagomedov and Rafael Dos Anjos will square off in a pivotal clash that could determine who faces the winner of the upcoming title fight between Anthony Pettis and Gilbert Melendez. These are two of the strongest grapplers in the 155-pound division and it will be interesting to see who will take the upper hand on the mat.
