The UFC's women's Bantamweight Champion is one of the most entertaining athletes to watch today. Ronda Rousey is aggressive, mean, technically sound and overall a thrill to watch dismantle an opponent. While the UFC has many elite fighters, there are a number of reasons why Rousey is Dana White's No. 1 star.

While obviously there were women practicing martial arts prior to Ronda Rousey, the UFC's women's divisions were huge news. As the first and still only ever women's champion in the largest mixed martial arts promotion, Rousey has been instrumental in bringing more female fans to the UFC and the sport in general.

When an athlete starts to become known for more than just their performance on the field (or in the octagon), that is when they really transcend their own sport. Not only has Rousey posed for a few magazines, but she is now going to be in movies. Among the first in her film career will be 'The Expendables 3', 'Fast and Furious 7' and Entourage movie.

Ever since she started fighting, Rousey has made it clear that her purpose is to beat opponents and not to make friends. She is confident almost to a fault and is frequently called unsportsmanlike for her treatment of opponents outside of the octagon. Whether or not she is a bully, people love watching her fight and also love watching her verbally tear into other fighters.

2. She's Beautiful

This may be superficial, but mixed martial arts has a primarily male fanbase. It's obvious that they would all rather watch a gorgeous woman in the octagon than an unattractive one. The look on Joe Rogan's face in the picture really says it all. She's a gorgeous woman who can beat most men to a pulp. The fact that their first women's champion is also a stunner just adds to her popularity and importance to the organization.

When she first started fighting in the UFC, everybody watching knew her signature move was the armbar. Despite all their strategies against the technique, she submitted her first two victims with it. Since then she has proven that she has knockout power. Her professional record of 10-0 is among one of the most impressive of the sport. The UFC has very few undefeated fighters. Chris Weidman's mixed martial arts record is also 10-0.
