UFC middleweight Clint Hester deserves nothing less than a spot in the top 15 of the UFC’s elite with victory at UFC Fight Night 55 in Sydney, Australia. Hester is currently performing very well in MMA, however, he’s doing so with very little recognition and he’s going unnoticed. He faces a tough opponent in Robert Whittaker in what is his fifth fight in the UFC and potentially his fifth victory.

Hester is a well rounded mixed martial artist. Despite having a tough start in his fighting career, he’s now found his feet within the sport, getting into good form and defeating all opponents put in front of him. He currently trains out of X3 Sports, and with a strong support team Hester has a bright future. Hester was previously a professional boxer where he had seven bouts including, three wins, three losses and the one draw. He also has a purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. His boxing and jiu-jitsu shows exactly how well rounded he is.

At UFC Fight Night 55 Hester will enter the bout with an MMA record of 11 wins and only three losses. His wins include seven by knockout, one via submission and three going to a decision. He holds notable victories over Bristol Marunde, Dylan Andrews, Andy Enz and most recently Antonio Braga Neto. Hester is currently riding a seven fight win streak with four coming in the UFC. Of this seven fight win streak, four of those bouts were finished early via KO and TKOs.

Hester now has the opportunity to enter the top 15 of the UFC’s middleweight. With his boxing an advantage and his confident jiu-jitsu game, he has a great chance to finish Whittaker early and go unnoticed no longer. With a strong game plan implemented, Hester should be able to out-box and finish the fight early, cementing his spot in the top 15 and creating bouts with more recognizable names and higher standard fighters. For example, it could set up bouts with fighters such as Mark Munoz, Brad Tavares or Tim Boetsch, giving him a great chance to move up the rankings.
