The fight of the century is about to spawn a sibling… at least reportedly.

According to ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, Floyd Mayweather will grant Manny Pacquiao a shot at a rematch next year. I’m not sure whether to be excited or to wonder if maybe I should just get on with my life.

If the fight is held in 2016, Mayweather will likely be just a year shy of 40, and Pacquiao could be a 37-year-old welterweight coming off of rotator cuff surgery. I’m all for old men greasing up and beating the tar out of each other, but this rendition could be more comically lame than the first “fight of the century.”
