Former WBA and IBO super lightweight boxing champ Jessie Vargas made headlines with controversial comments about Irish UFC star Conor McGregor over the weekend.
During an interview with Villainfy Media, Vargas claimed that McGregor has already been knocked out by boxer Brandon Rios during a sparring session in preparation for his August 26 fight against Floyd Mayweather.

The boxing world is small, you hear these things. I heard they tried Brandon Rios, but he knocked (Conor) out, so they had to push him away.
However, ESN‘s Elie ‘Big-Time’ Seckbach appears to have already debunked Vargas’ claim during a phone interview with Rios himself on Sunday.
