2012 Senior Bowl Game Recap
Chuck Cook-US PRESSWIRE

Brandon Weeden dominated Senior Bowl practices.

Brandon Weeden was 2/2 before a fumble on defense as a defender stripped a pass from Joe Adams caused the North to get the ball back.  The North team did well.  Russell Wilson made some good plays.

Coples dominated Ohio State left tackle Mike Adams in pass blocking drills.  Wilson was able to scramble out of the pocket to gain yards after the line of scrimmage.

Adams dominated South team pass rushers in run blocking drills with his 6 foot 8 320 pound run blocking frame.  Quinton Coples, Courtney Upshaw, and Melvin Ingram are all dominant during Senior Bowl week.

Chris Polk struggled in practice sessions, but helped the North team.  Russell Wilson overthrew Marvin McNutt on 3rd down which caused the North team to settle for a field goal.

Weeden with another completion to start 3 for 3.  North defensive tackles Kendall Reyes and Alameda Ta’amu.  Vinny Curry manages to tip a pass. 3rd and 14 for the North.  Weeden throws a pass to Jeff Fuller.  Weeden throws a 6 yard pass after a 5 step drop and Fuller runs for 4 yards after the catch, as the North team gains 8 yards on the pass.

The South ties the game up at 3.  Now the North gets the football.

Russell Wilson with another milk dud of a throw.  Brandon Taylor with an interception.  The LSU strong safety played next to Morris Claiborne on LSU’s secondary.

Weeden hesitates when he is pressured.  Vinny Curry and Alameda Ta’amu winning one on one battles with the South teams interior offensive line.

Vinny Curry and Ta’amu pressure Weeden again.  This results in an interception by Utah State’s Bobby Wagner.  The North gets the football.

The score is 3 to 3 after 1 quarter.  Time for the second quarter.

Russell Wilson throws a touchdown.  Wilson’s touchdown makes it 10 to 3.

Ryan Lindley is making horrendous throws at the Senior Bowl.  Criner is showing great effort.  Lindley’s accuracy sucks today.

Joe Adams with a sick play.  Adams and D’Anton Lynn were two players that I had listed as 4th round talents who could be huge sleepers.  Adams clearly had Lynn’s number.

D’Anton Lynn misses the tackle.  Juron Criner making an effort.  Lindley cannot make these throws.

Bobby Wagner with a sick deflection on that passing play.  Wagner had a pick and now he swats a pass down.

Mayock keeps talking smack about Quinton Coples.  Coples is the one player besides Luck or Kalil that I would bet on when it comes to getting into Canton.  I think the SEC is paying Mayock to bash Coples so Upshaw and Ingram go higher.

Zach Brown is another Tar Heel.  Brown has the versatility to play right or left outside linebacker in the 4-3.  Brown can play on the weak side or the strong side.  I’m not completely sold on Brown as a first round pick.

I love the tape I saw with Brandon Thompson.  I did an extensive scouting report on Thompson.  I would take Thompson over Devon Still with a top 16 pick without thinking twice about it.

I was down on Bowers last year and had mixed feelings about Jarvis Jenkins.  I loved what I am seeing with Andre Branch and Brandon Thompson.

Why is Lindley throwing a screen on 3rd and 10?  That conservative decision making on a critical down really leaves me with the wrong impression.

Kellen Moore displays great accuracy on that throw.  Marvin McNutt ran a nice route.  Casey Heyward breaking up the pass.

Kellen Moore is like Devier Posey C’Mon Man after another dropped pass.  Moore decides to throw a screen to Iasiah Pead.

Kirk Cousins getting outstanding pass protection from Ohio State let tackle Mike Adams.  Heyward makes a pick in a critical situation for the South.

Lindley makes a better decision.  Donnie Fletcher continues to struggle during the Senior Bowl.

Russell Wilson’s touchdown to Marvin Jones was the key play in the first half.

The left side of the North’s offensive line features left tackle Mike Adams and left guard Johnnie Troutman.

Great run blocking by left tackle Senio Kelemete, right tackle Kelechi Osmele, and center Michael Brewster, run blocking for Doug Martin.

Kelemete and Upshaw do an awesome job pass protecting Kirk Cousins on 3rd down against two top ten talents like Quinton Coples and Courtney Upshaw.

Kirk Cousins is 4 for 10 100 passing yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 pick in limited action.

Nick Foles with a monster play to Joe Adams.  Foles throws a 36 yard pass to Joe Adams.

Cordy Glenn gets called for a false start penalty when lined up at left tackle.  Safe to say that Glenn will play guard in the NFL.

Foles with a bad throw on 3rd down to Juron Criner.  Foles had plenty of time to make that throw too.

Melvin Ingram dominated Senior Bowl practices.  He has had a bad game today.

Mike Adams was doing a good job blocking.  Great coverage by the South team and a lack of decision making by Russell Wilson led to Upshaw’s sack on Russell Wilson.

Brandon Thompson stops Chris Polk for a loss of yards as Clemson’s defensive tackle.  Michael Brewster stops Thompson with his run blocking on the following play.

Vinny Curry winning a one on one match up against Zebrie Sanders.  Sanders is a right tackle.  Zebrie Sanders played right tackle when Andrew Datko was playing left tackle.

Criner catches a touchdown pass from Nick Foles.  Great game management by Kirk Cousins.  Coples makes a stop on 3rd down to keep them to a field goal.  Lindley throws a pick in a critical situation.

Isaiah Pead is the Senior Bowl MVP.  Pead had 31 rushing yards, and 98 rushing yards on special teams.  Mike Adams dominated with his blocking ability at left tackle.  I think Adams deserved MVP honors with his performance at the Senior Bowl.
