In this piece I examine my thoughts on Team Orr.  Team Orr is the team wearing the White Jerseys in the CHL prospects game.

Line 1 Forwards Andreas Athanasaiou Left Wing/Center London Knights OHL, Francis Beauvillier Center Rimouski Oceanic QMJHL, Raphael Bussieres Center/Right Wing Baie-Cmeau Drakkar

Line 1 Forward Thoughts Athanasiaiou can be a sniper used as a two way forward.  Beauvillier has matured from a back 6 playmaker to a front 6 playmaker on the first line.  Bussieres has the versatility to play center or right wing as a two way forward.  Bussieres displays some playmaking ability.  Both wingers on line one have two way forward ability while executing as snipers.

Line 1 Defenseman left blue line defender Gianluca Curcuruto Sault. Ste Marie Greyhounds OHL and right blue line defender Matt Finn Guelph Storm WHL

Line 1 Defenseman Thoughts Matt Finn is an underrated defender capable of anchoring the blue line as a two way defender playing both ends.  Curcuruto is an offensive defender who will help generate scoring chances on Team Orr’s first line.

Line 2 Forwards Radek Faska Left Wing/Center/Right Wing Kitchener Rangers OHL, Mikhail Grigorenko Center/Right Wing Quebec Remparts, Tomas Hyka Center/Right Wing Gatineau Olympiques.

Line 2 Forward Thoughts All of the forwards on line 2 have playmaking ability to pass the puck.  Line 2 will probably showcase a lot of players on offense at forward generating shots to the right side.

Line 2 Defenseman left blue line defender Adam Pelech Erie Otters and right blue line defender Derrick Pouliot.

Line 2 Defenseman Thoughts Derrick Pouliot is anchoring the blue line.  Adam Pelch is a good complimentary defensive defender.

Line 3 Forwards Scott Kosmachuk Left Wing/Center/Right Wing Guelph Storm OHL, Tanner Pearson Left Wing/Center Barrie Colts OHL, Colton Sissons Right Wing Kelowna Rockets WHL

Line 3 Forward Thoughts The 3rd line is loaded with snipers.  Everyone on Team Orr’s 3rd line has a strong point when it comes to shooting the puck.

Line 3 Defenseman left blue line defender Griffin Reinhart Edmonton Oil Kings and right blue line defender Dalton Thrower Saskatoon Blades WHL

Line 3 Defenseman Thoughts Griffin Reinhart and Dalton Thrower are defensive defenders.  Thrower is a grinder who has a tendency to pick fights at times.  It will be really difficult to stop the 3rd line on defense.

Line 4 Forwards Chandler Stephenson Left Wing/Center Regina Pats WHL, Lukas Sutter Center Saskatoon Blades WHL, and Branden Troock Right Wing Seattle Thunderbirds WHL

Line 4 Forward Thoughts Chandler Stephenson is a two way forward at left wing and center.  Stephenson can be an effective playmaker.  Lukas Sutter is the center for the Saskatoon Blades.  One of Sutter’s responsibilities is dishing the puck out to teammates to create open chances.  Branden Troock can be used as an effective sniper on the right wing.  Troock is really effective when unleashing power on his wrist shots and slap shots.

Team Orr Power Play Team Orr has too many defensive defenders to be effective on the power play.  Grigorenko could generate a scoring chance if he gets a breakaway.

Team Orr Penalty Killing Team Orr will be outstanding at penalty killing.  Team Cherry specializes on the power play with their numerous offensive defenders.  That will make this game better to watch.

Chris Driedger Goaltender Calgary Hitmen WHL Driedger may appear slightly undersized.  Driedger has fantastic athletic ability for a keeper.  Driedger can make the necessary saves in critical situations.  It only helps that he has a defense this good to help him out tonight.

Francois Tremblay Goaltender Vald’Or Foreuers QMJHL Tremblay has really improved his game in 2011.  Tremblay could really step up for an AHL squad after completing his developmental period in the QMJHL.  Tremblay could develop into a decent backup NHL goaltender.
